Meet the Scientists: Dr. Michael Torres

Dr. Torres leads our Cardiac Regeneration research program. We sat down with him to learn about his work and what drives him.

What inspired you to focus on cardiac regeneration?

"I lost my father to heart disease when I was 23. That experience showed me how limited our treatment options are for damaged heart tissue. The heart doesn't heal itself like other organs—once muscle is lost, it's gone. I wanted to change that."

How does quantum light technology change the game?

"Traditional stem cell therapies for the heart have struggled with cell survival. When you inject stem cells into damaged heart tissue, most of them die within hours. Our quantum hyperlight treatment dramatically extends their survival, giving them time to integrate and begin regenerating tissue."

What's your biggest hope for the next five years?

"I want to see a patient who has suffered a major heart attack receive our treatment and fully recover their cardiac function. That's the dream—and I believe we're on the path to making it reality."
